My first food truck visit of the year was to Dandelion Kitchen. It can regularly be found in the IDS Plaza on Nicollet between 7th and 8th during the week.

Food: Mozzarella & Tomato Sandwich: house-made walnut pesto, local mozzarella, heirloom tomatoes, and arugula

This sandwich was very good. I mean who doesn’t like the mozzarella-tomato combination? And pesto…yum! The arugula added the perfect peppery flavor. The sandwich was served on a baguette, adding a little crunch and a hint of salt. I would definitely order this sandwich again and recommend it!

Drink: House-made Basil Lime soda

This was by far the best soda beverage I have ever had! It was not too sugary and the burst of basil was perfect- as expected. I’m excited to try their other flavor variations (i.e. lemon ginger, rosemary grapefruit).

This kitchen uses local and organic products (when possible) which I always appreciate. They even list on their website where their products are from! They also accept Visa (and I’m guessing MC), charged on the iPhone and signed with your finger. I was very excited about this because it enabled me to purchase the soda.

I will be visiting the Dandelion Kitchen again!
